We are an arts studio based in Barcelona directed by Colombian artist Ivonne Portillo Sierra. We collaborate with a network of Latin-American artists and cultural researchers for our projects. The objective of Casa Jaguar Studio’s works is to reflect on the history, peoples, landscapes, and cultures of Latin America.

Mujeres Indelebles (2023)
The book Mujeres Indelebles is a poetic, historic and pictorial anthology of the lives of determinant women for the history of Latin America. The book is a pedagogical work on indigenous women and their fight for their communities’ rights and territories. Each chapter narrates the chronic of a different woman. Their stories take place from the beginning of colonization to the present day.
This book is the result of a multidisciplinary project by Casa Jaguar Studio. It all started with research texts written by the human ecologist Ana María Zabala on the history and context of each woman. After reading the texts, the plastic artist Ivonne Portillo created a painting for each character. The poet Arjàn Álvarez wrote a poem inspired in each story. At last, the photographer Alba Maury took analog double exposure photographs which overlay images of landscapes with the images of Ivonne’s paintings, connecting these women to the earth that is at the heart of their struggles. The texts, paintings, poems and photographs are included in this art book.
