Anastasya Kizilova

Oslo, Norway

My main artistic activity is the search for hidden gaps in social, economic and environmental patterns that could open a way for a new kind of interaction and communication. My projects address the containment of the artistic community, its autonomy as a separate social group, and explore and implement alternative models of interaction.

I'm evolving a weak aesthetic by sewing the social fabric with poetic language. The term weak is free of negative connotations, it opens the way for non-competitive relations, inclusive practices. Weak aesthetics does not exclude the ordinary, it transforms it through the study of themselves and the Other, training skills of mutual assistance, the ability to dissolve the look and see the excluded, breathe intangible reality and improve the forms of its fixation. Regular meetings, collective actions that occur in the proposed situation/space, open for editing, gradually influence the perception and form a critical vision of each participant.

I use a wide range of existing methods such as performative actions, web-interventions, filming, print, drawing, installations and nonverbal language to create situations/places where temporal communities could exist on new principals. I search for hidden gaps in social, economic and environmental patterns that could open a way for a new kind of interaction and communication.

QWM! (2023)

Anastasya Kizilova presents a collaborative, self-published poetry zine.

Fragile words, drawn through love and resistance, whispered in a language that can only be spoken in secret.

The power of love—across borders, boundaries, and distance—will be present,

alongside solidarity for those in need.

Come. Open a zine.

Fall in loooooveeeee.
